This January, We're Focusing on Fairness!
- Adventure: In “Fairness with Vella Lovell and Meredith Holzman,” three kids — Bodhi, Aubrey, and Will — travel with host Todd Loyd to the Land of Qook-a-lackas to help two Qook-a-lacka friends “qook-a-late” to retsore fairness to the Land.
- Mission & Song: We return to challenge our listeners to go on their own FAIRNESS QUEST, inspired by the episode and the words/actions of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. — whose legacy of justice, equality, and human rights we celebrated this month. Then turn up the volume and dance along to a brand-new Little Kids, Big Hearts original song: When Something’s Unfair.
- Storytime: We share an original Little Kids, Big Hearts story, “The Qook-a-lackas’ Absolutely Exactly Everything Equal Day.”
- Interview: We share an interview with Judge Gabriel P. Sanchez about fairness.

What Listeners are Saying
"Hi" from Host Todd Loyd
The host of Little Kids, Big Hearts, Todd Loyd, has worked in education for 26 years. Todd started his career as an actor, director, and artistic director. He became a teacher after the life-changing experience of working one-on-one with a child living with autism. He currently teaches in New York City, where he also serves as the Social and Emotional Learning Coordinator for the Early Childhood Division. “Children can experience the same kinds of crazy-mixed-up-scrambled-egg emotions and feelings as the adults in their lives,” says Todd. “It has never been more important than it is this year, to help and support children in identifying and expressing what they are thinking and how they are feeling.” Todd holds an M.S. in Early Childhood & Special Education.
